About us
A Short Story
Westchester United F.C. or WUFC is a community based soccer club founded in 2014 by Antonio and Mike Corrado, two Italian American brothers with a love for the sport and a passion for sharing their knowledge. Head Coach Antonio played professional soccer all over the world before coming home to Westchester. He has dreamt of building a club that encapsulates everything he has learned while pursuing a pro career to provide New York with elite training and international soccer culture though trips such as the Viareggio Cup.

Where it started
In November of 2014, Westchester United F.C. was born! After having the opportunity to work with a group of players at a local high school in Westchester County, and recognizing a need for a club based on player development, the first Boys U16 team was formed. In their first season as a club, a group of players representing various towns and ethnicities came together and become 2015 ENY Premier League Champions. From there a grass roots movement was started not driven by coaches or money but by and for players...

Continued Success
As the club continued to grow, Westchester United F.C. continued to challenge the status quo and focus on real player development triggered at improving players both on the soccer field but also providing them with opportunities to play in college. At WUFC we don't focus on playing in the "popular" college showcases but rather the showcases where we feel our players will have the best opportunity to be noticed and recruited. Leading to a college pathway program which would see 8-10 players each year graduate from our program into various NCAA D1, D2, D3 programs.

Amateur Men & Women's Soccer
We wanted to create a pathway for our players beyond playing in College, so in the spring of 2021 we launched our Men's semi-pro team and eventually in 2021 our Women's semi-pro team. This would create a developmental pathway for players to play within our youth system, focus on playing in college and then have the opportunity to get called into a senior level team. Our men's program is currently on a hiatus after almost clinching a birth in the U.S. Lamar Open Cup, the oldest professional tournament in the USA. Currently, our Women's Semipro team is still active and competes in the UPSL. In 2024, they were crowned Northeast Regional Champions.

VIareggio Cup
Our founders understand the importance of giving players in the USA an opportunity to measure themselves against the best clubs and youth players in the world. Having played in the Viareggio Cup in 2009, Coach Antonio knew the importance of implementing this opportunity into the club would be essential for player development. Together they applied for two years to be accepted by the tournament board, but it wasn't until 2018 that they were finally accepted. In 2019, Westchester United F.C. participated in the 71st Edition of the Boys Tournament. Since then they have become the only club to participate in the Women's Edition of the Viareggio Cup, and have even advanced into the knockout stages of the boys tournament, an accomplishment no club from North American has ever attained. They have currently made the Viareggio Cup an elite select program that trains 7-9 months out of the year to best prepare for what is considered the biggest youth tournament in the world and a trampoline into professional soccer.

Future Plans
As our club continues to grow, we continue to seek out new opportunities for our players. Currently focused on our Boys & Girls Elite soccer program that focuses on playing in the Viareggio Cup we will begin to reintroduce youth clinics (8-12 year olds) in the near future.
